Mayor Richard Daley is calling on communities to curb violence in Chicago. Mayor Daley and Chicago's police superintendent Jody Weis joined a Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy or "CAPS" rally Saturday on the South Side.

The program is designed to get people to be pro-active in cutting down crime in order to reclaim the community from criminals.

Caps started in 1994 with 20 police districts and is now in all of Chicago's neighborhoods.
