August 3, 2008: Israel tourism

Our guest is Uri Steinberg, Israel's tourism consul for Illinois and 12 other Midwestern states.

We'll talk about the cost of visiting Israel with a weakened dollar, the danger of terrorism, the importance of tourism to Israel's economy, and some popular destinations there.

Israel stresses that most tourists are not Jews, and it notes that the country has historic Roman Catholic, Muslim, Greek Orthodox and Bahai shrines, as well as Jewish ones.
