ELGIN --An arrest warrant has been issued for a woman involved in a fatal crash with a Metra commuter train almost two years ago. Epifania Alvarez-Navarrette failed to appear in court last week on reckless homicide charges. She's accused of driving around crossing gates in Elgin in December of 2006.
Two of her sisters and her 8-month-old nephew were killed when they were caught in the train's path.
The judge said he will allow let Alvarez-Navarrette to explain her absence if she returns to court before police track her down.
