Brothers recovering after controversial kidney transplant

CHICAGO Eighteen-year-old Omar Castillo had been dealing with kidney failure for the past three years. At first, it appeared he would not be able to have the surgery until supporters stepped in and secured help for the state's ALL Kids healthcare program. His brother donated one of his kidneys.

A UIC hospital spokesperson says both men are still in pain but that Omar's new kidney appears to be working well.

Omar turns 19 Saturday. He said he's already gotten his birthday present.
