The nude body of 46-year-old Maratta Walker was found in a motel room closet at the Chicago Lodge at 920 West Foster. An autopsy determined Walker died from blunt trauma injuries.
In June, Gibson was arrested in Cleveland, Ohio, on a probation violation stemming from a bank robbery conviction. He was returned to Chicago.
Gibson is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
