CHICAGO --A man allegedly involved in a shootout at a Southwest Side jewelry store now faces murder charges. Carl Thomas, 28, and Marvin Groves, 41, were partners in the hold-up, according to police. Groves was shot to death by the storeowner. Thomas was wounded.
Because Thomas was allegedly involved in the robbery gone bad, he now faces murder charges in connection to Groves' death for committing the crime.
A store employee and passer-by were also injured in the shooting.
