A new study has identified the profile of an odor that emanates from skin cancer.Pennsylvania researchers analyzed air samples above the skin of people with healthy skin and those with the most common type of skin cancer. The levels of some chemicals were strikingly different.

Experts hope the new information will lead to a more rapid and non-invasive detection and diagnosis of skin cancer

The findings were presented at the American Chemical Society meeting in Philadelphia.
