First human case of West Nile reported in Cook Co.

The first human case of West Nile virus in Cook County this summer has been confirmed in north suburban Skokie. The first human case of West Nile virus in Cook County this summer has been confirmed in north suburban Skokie.

Health authorities there say a 59-year-old woman was hospitalized with the virus for two days last week. She is now recovering at home.

Two other human cases have been reported this summer - one in Kane County and the other in Montgomery County.
