Sergeant Galarza and five other Southwest Side Marines were scheduled to land at Midway Airport just after 9 a.m.
A reception will be held shortly afterward at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
6 local Marines return from Iraq
One of those is Marine Sergeant Raymundo Galarza of Schaumburg. In May, he got to see his newborn baby girl from Iraq via satellite.
His wife, Monica, has not seen her husband since last December.
Saturday's homecoming for the Marine gunnery ends his second tour of duty in Iraq.
