Cook Co. Board expected to discuss sales tax help

Some business owners say they will have to move their establishments out of Cook County because of the high taxes.

The new proposal offers incentives for businesses, including a rebate of up to 50 percent on the county portion of their sales tax.

Cook County wants those funds used to boost sales and create new jobs.

Retailers hardest hit by the recent sales tax hikes have been threatening to move to other counties.
