Officials of Western Illinois University weren't happy to learn the Macomb Police Department failed to inform them that a film crew for an MTV reality show were in town last week. The crew from America's Finest Television filmed local police officers on patrol for the MTV show "Busted."

Western Illinois University vice president for student services Garry Johnson on Wednesday expressed concerns the television show would make Macomb and the university "look bad."

However, Deputy Chief Curt Barker said he's watched several episodes of the television show. He said he believes it does not cast any of the communities shown in a negative way.

Barker added the show follows up with defendants the police arrest during filming to see how their experience with the court system affected them.
