Tenn. men make controversial waffle mix

Two Tennessee men say it's breakfast food with a political message. Some say it's just offensive. It's called Obama Waffles mix. It's based on Bob DeMoss and Mark Whitlock's belief that the Democratic presidential nominee, Barack Obama, "waffles" on the issues.

What has people so offended is what's on the box? There's a recipe for "Open Border Fiesta Waffles" on the back. There are also caricatures of Michelle Obama, John Kerry and the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Plus, there's one of Barack Obama wearing an Muslim headdress.

"We're not attempting to be crass about it. We actually are trying to build on an actual issue, and if it is offensive, that wasn't our intent. I think this sort of stuff is ridiculous," said DeMoss.

It has caused a stir nationally and gotten some attention from major publications.

The men, who are Republicans, say the idea hit them during a late-night pizza run.
