Greater miscarriage risk for obese women

British scientists studied a group of women with a history of unexplained recurrent miscarriage. Findings show the risk of further miscarriage for obese women was significantly higher than normal weight women.

Researchers recommend counseling for pregnant women who are obese to help them understand the benefit weight loss may have on pregnancy outcome.

Others are urging caution because there are risks associated with losing weight during pregnancy.
