NRSB investigates close call involving Chicago-bound plane

ALLENTOWN, Pa. It happened Friday night at the airport in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The incident involved a Cessna aircraft and a Mesa Airlines jet that was flying as a United Express flight.

Sixty people were on board the commuter jet. The NTSB says the jet was beginning its takeoff when the Cessna taxied onto the runway.

The pilot saw the Cessna plane ahead, aborted the takeoff and swerved to avoid the aircraft.

Investigators say the crew of the jet estimated missing the Cessna by about 10 feet.
