Police: Two assaults may be linked

LINDENHURST, Ill. On Sunday, a Lindenhurst teenager was allegedly attacked by a man while getting a massage in her home. The teen's name had been entered into a drawing at a local beauty salon to win a free Swedish massage. The contest was not affiliated with the salon.

"There was some inappropriate touching. She indicated to him to stop that particular thing. He did. And then the massage did continue and then it went into a true assault mode," said Lindenhurst Police Chief Jack McKeever.

The victim's grandmother heard her scream and came into the room.

"The suspect picked up his material, the support boards, apparently some massage oils, and he apparently ran from the house and he left driving a silver Toyota Camry," said Chief Jack McKeever.

Police say the man may have attacked another victim and have formed a task force to investigate.

"We now have a possibly likely related incident that involves an adult woman who's also a resident of the village," said Chief Jack McKeever.

Police released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as a man in his 30s with black hair and a dark complexion. He is 5'6" with bulging eyes. He speaks broken English with a heavy accent.

Police say he may have posted ads for free massages at other locations. They have alerted authorities in northeast Illinois as well as southeast Wisconsin.

"Just in the last few hours, it's come to our attention that there may be a number of other incidents of this nature," said Chief McKeever.

Business owners who spot the ad should cover it up and call local police. Do not remove it.
