Toyota looks into eco-friendly Camry

Toyota says it plans to build an electric hybrid version of the Camry powered by compressed natural gas.

Toyota tried marketing natural gas vehicles back in 1999 but gave up on the concept because it did not catch on with consumers.

There are fewer than 1,000 CNG fueling stations that serve consumers nationwide.

But Toyota executives say they're looking at it again because it could become a future prime fuel source.

Rival Honda makes a CNG powered civic. But its only sold in two states.

The new Camry will be presented at the Los Angeles auto show in November.
