Just one exercise session can do wonders for obese individuals, according to findings from University of Michigan researchers. They determined that a single bout of exercise helps these individuals boost their body's fat burning rate and improve their metabolic health.

They say exercising increases the ability to burn fat and store fat as triglycerides in muscle.

That's beneficial to getting people to reduce their insulin resistance and their likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes.
