CHICAGO --The man who escaped from the Cook County Jail wearing a guard's uniform has been sentenced to 42 years in prison for robbing five banks in the Loop while on the loose. Randy Rencher was convicted back in June. He has been in federal custody since his 2006 robbery spree. It ended when he surrendered to the FBI in Ohio.
Rencher is facing another trial. He's charged with taking a busload of federal prisoner's hostage during another escape attempt in February.
