Man charged in shooting death on bus

CHICAGO Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin says Milton Wardlaw was charged Thursday with first-degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm in the death of Kiyanna Salter.

Wardlaw surrendered at the a church on Wednesday after his image was captured by a bus surveillance camera.

Wardlaw told reporters at the church that he didn't fire the gun that killed Salter. He's due in bond court on Friday.

Authorities say the shooting occurred after two men, including Wardlaw, quarreled on the bus. They say he got off, fired a shot back into the bus and fled.
