Off-duty police officer killed in crash

MATTESON, Ill. Investigators in the south Chicago suburb of Matteson say 40-year-old Andria Randolph lost control of her motorcycle Tuesday.

Deputy Chief George Pfotenhauer said Randolph was taken to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, where she was pronounced dead.

Pfotenhauer said he did not know how the accident occurred or how fast the bike was traveling, but said she was not believed to be wearing a helmet at the time.

Chicago spokeswoman Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said Randolph, a 7-year Chicago police veteran, was last assigned to the Gresham District on the overnight shift as a field training officer, working with newly hired police officers.
