Lottery game aids veterans

Tammy Duckworth, the state department of veterans affairs director, announced a new lottery game Thursday. It's called Coin Craze and is the latest in the Veteran's Cash lottery games.

Proceeds from the tickets go to non-profit organizations that provide services to Illinois vets. Duckworth explained why such groups were chosen.

"The organizations in your communities know best often times what the veterans in those communities need to succeed and to thrive and what help they need," said Duckworth.

Since early 2007, the department of veterans affairs has awarded more than $4.7 million in grants.
