A Metra engineer is on suspension after being accused of letting a teenager operate a commuter train. Two other engineers are also suspended for allegedly allowing the 18-year-old into the engine cab.

Metra says while the investigation is going on, it's not releasing information about which line was involved or whether passengers were onboard at the time.

Metra says it heard about the incident two weeks ago and acted immediately.

"If in fact these allegations are true, we will expect very swift proactive actions taken not only by the union, but certainly by Metra," said Judy Pardonnet, Metra Spokesperson.

Metra spokesperson Judy Pardonnet stresses that the workers deserve due process and the investigation is in it's early stages.
