The state of Illinois will have an extra $118-million this year to help low-income families with their winter heating costs.Governor Blagojevich says the state now has $265-million in money from the federal government's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Applications for the money are available from a network of community action agencies across the state. Residents can call 1-877-411-warm for more information.
The program begins November 1.
