BRISTOL, Ind. --Traffic is back to normal after three separate accidents shut down the Indiana Toll Road for five hours early this morning. The worst of the wrecks happened at about 4:30 a.m. when a semi collided with a tanker about 20 miles east of South Bend, Ind. The tanker caught fire and its driver is in critical condition.
That crash happened as traffic was stopped for a medical helicopter to take away a victim from another collision.
There was snow in that area Tuesday morning and authorities are blaming slick roads.
