Conservatory visitors will travel back in time with a re-creation of the indoor chrysanthemum show that was so popular at the Conservatory in the 1920s. Thousands of the traditional "Queen of Fall" flowers, including spider, quill, daisy, brush, anemone, button and daisy mums, will color the show house in shades of yellow, orange, red, pink, lavender and green. Artistically displayed as cascades, hanging baskets, tree forms and several large bush mums, the flowers will mingle with additional plants. The last year the Garfield Park Conservatory exhibited an indoor mum show was in 1999.
This year, each unique flower show and event held at the Garfield Park Conservatory will pay tribute to its long illustrious history, with portions of each show devoted to an all-American selection of hybrids created during a given time period.
Also at the Garfield Park ConservatoryIn addition to the indoor display, check out the Outdoor Fall Flower Show in the CityGarden, featuring hardy mums, ornamental kales, and other fall botanicals.
