Testosterone patch could boost female libido

A the study in the New England Journal of Medicine involved women from several different countries who were experiencing a decrease in their libido after menopause.

Those on the patch reported a modest but meaningful boost in their sex lives after a year.

But researchers say there are side effects to consider, including extra hair growth and cancer. And, they say, more research is needed to better understand which patients are more likely to experience negative effects.

The test was sponsored by the maker of the testosterone patch Intrinsa.
