CHICAGO --A price war has been waged between several gas stations in one southwest suburban community. Four gas stations in New Lenox have cut the price of regular to $1.99. According to the web site ChicagoGasPrices.com, no other station in the Chicago area had dropped below 2-dollars.
AAA Chicago reports the average cost for a gallon of gas in Cook County is $2.52. That's down $1.08 since last month.
Across Illinois the average price is $2.26 a gallon.
