Gutierrez wants Obama to tackle immigration

Specifically, Gutierrez made mention of, "The promises that were made, keeping our families together, and reforming our immigration system so that unification of families is something that is sacrosanct. That keeping our families together is something that is always on the minds of the next administration," he said.

Gutierrez spoke at a meeting Saturday where families shared stories of loved ones facing deportation. He wants Congress and the new administration to issue a moratorium on immigration raids and to keep campaign promises.

Gutierrez also has said he would be interested in replacing Obama in the United States Senate.
