Some Chicago area lawmakers are throwing their hats into the ring hoping to become the President-elect Obama's replacement in the Senate.Chicago Congressman Danny Davis gathered dozens of supporters around him at his South Side office Sunday to declare his interest and to list his congressional achievements.

Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky told ABC7 Chicago Sunday night that she would relish the chance to advance the incoming president's agenda by occupying his Senate seat.

Other potential replacements include congressmen Jesse Jackson Jr. and Luis Gutierrez, as well as Illinois Veterans Director Tammy Duckworth and State Senate President Emil Jones.

Governor Blagojevich gets to choose the replacement, and he could pick himself.
