Durbin warns against inauguration ticket scams

There is a huge demand for tickets to attend the ceremony.

Lots of work is already underway in the nation's capital. There are a total of only 240,000 tickets available. But demand is much higher than that.

"It is going to be a logistical challenge the likes of which Washington has never seen, but it's truly a historic moment, so just by way of background, for the record, there are no tickets presently available and will not be available until a week before the event," said Ill. Sen. Dick Durbin.

Durbin says anyone trying to sell you a ticket right now is misleading you because they don't have any. And the tickets are not supposed to be sold.

They can only legally be handed out through the offices of the president and vice president-elect and members of Congress.
