November 30, 2008: Holiday Shopping Season
We'll try to fund out how the troubled economy is likely to affect the holiday shopping season. How much less is the typical consumer likely to spend this season? Are stores cutting prices more than usual? Will prices get even lower? How serious is the downturn for merchants? Will more file for bankruptcy, joining a long list that includes Circuit City, Linen 'n' Things, S & A Restaurant Corp. (Bennigan's), Sharper Image, Tweeter, and Wickes Furniture?
