Illinois veterans remember Pearl Harbor

Thousands of veterans commemorated the 67th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor Sunday.Some survivors of the 1941 attack were honored at the Disabled American Veterans Club in Springfield. Department of Veterans Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth led a tribute and wreath-laying for the more than 2,400 Americans who died at Pearl Harbor. Yhe attack plunged the United States into World War II.

Flags at all state-occupied buildings flew at half-staff Sunday, as well.
