Couple extra pounds boosts heart risk

A new study concentrates on men who are borderline overweight. Boston researchers followed more than 21,000 male doctors for two decades.

Men who were just a little overweight had a 49 percent increase risk of heart disease. They also found that just a little amount of physical activity appeared to decrease the risk of heart failure. But they say that vigorous exercise makes the difference.

The study is published the current issue of Circulation.
