Daley checks out Winter Classic progress

CHICAGO Chicago Mayor Richard Daley braved the temperatures Monday to check out the rink being built at Wrigley Field for the Winter Classic. The Blackhawks will host the Detroit Red Wings New Year's Day.

"It brings in the Chicago Blackhawks, the Cubs, Wrigley Field, the city," Daley said. "People love their sports in Chicago. It doesn't matter who you're cheering for, great sports town."

The Winter Classic starts at noon Jan. 1. The NHL will host a festival around Wrigley Field.
