Spire installed on Chicago's Trump Tower

January 4, 2009 (CHICAGO) A helicopter dangled over the roof of the 92-story tower and lowering steel sections of spire. Approximately 1,300 feet in the air, the precise movements weren't affected by strong winds and the cold temperature.

Owner Donald Trump was not on site for the project, but for onlookers, it was a spectacular sight.

"To see the helicopter coming down and with all the people looking, it was pretty exciting. It was pretty nice something different in Chicago," said spectator Ron Rufo.

The entire project took four hours and 15 minutes.

With the addition of the spire, Trump Tower is 1,361 feet tall, which is 90 feet shorter than the Sears Tower.
