Many people start off the New Year with a resolution to eat healthier. If that's one of your goals, Chef Joey Morelli can help. The owner of Joey's Brickhouse restaurant and Enter the Chef in Chicago, Chef Joey will share healthy cooking tips and demonstrate some flavorful dishes on Saturday at the free fitness fair in Downtown Highland Park. Among the dishes he'll prepare are an Israeli couscous salad and tomato-basil soup.In addition, Chef Joey and his brother Greg will be hosting their weekly radio show "Family Values with an Oy Vey" (on WCPT 820 AM or 92.7 FM) at the fitness festival at the Equinox Fitness Club, 799 Central, Highland Park. From noon to 2 pm on Saturday, they'll be taking calls from listeners, answering questions and talking about the other activities of the "Healthy Fare and Fitness Fair."
You don't have to be a club member to work out with Equinox's fitness professionals as they demonstrate techniques to tighten, tone and turn heads in the New Year. Other complimentary services will include 10-minute tune-ups with personal trainers; chair massages and hand treatment massages. Therapeutic Kneads will be on hand with nutrition and wellness consultations, including healthy home cleaning products, and New Balance North Shore will be showcasing its brand new running styles for 2009.
