In this tough economy, more and more people are worried about keeping up with their mortgage payments, while other homeowners are facing foreclosure. In Cook County, foreclosure filings for January through November 2008 were up 22 percent compared to the same period in 2007. For all of Illinois, foreclosure filings were up 27 percent during that period. Those figures are according to RealtyTrac, an Irvine, California real estate data company.
