It's used on young women with fibroids, and this latest study says, it does not harm fertility.
Unlike hysterectomy, the traditional operation for fibroids which removes the uterus, UAE, involves using a tiny catheter to inject small particles into the blood vessels feeding the tumors.
That deprives them of blood which causes them to shrink.
Because the uterus is not removed, UAE allows women the possibility of becoming pregnant in the future.
