A missing 8-year-old boy is back with his family after some scary moments Friday morning.Tremont Coleman was in the backseat of a car stolen from a gas station on the South Side Friday morning. His stepfather had gone inside to make a purchase.

The thief let the boy out nearby. The boy found someone to call for help.

¶"I just walked and went into--walked to someone's house and called my daddy," Tremont said.

¶"I'm never going to let him out of my sight," said Vaughn Johnson, stepfather. "If I gotta go in the store, he's going to go with me at all times. To anyone who has kids: do not let them out of your sight, no matter how long or short you're in the store, take them with you."

Tremont was not hurt.

Police have not found the car or the thief.
