1 more month for parking ticket amnesty

January 13, 2009 (CHICAGO) Chicago's Department of Revenue says so far it's collected $493,000 for more than 16,000 unpaid tickets.

The amnesty program offers a 50 percent discount on the penalty portion of tickets issued before January 1, 2007.

Tickets must be paid in full to receive a discount on the penalties.

Chicago's ticket amnesty program runs through February 14.
