CDOT worker killed

Police have cited a driver who hit and killed a veteran Chicago Department of Transportation worker on Tuesday morning.The accident happened in the 3300 block of East 100th Street.

The worker was unloading materials for an upcoming project when a passing car swerved to avoid another vehicle and hit the worker.

A CDOT spokesperson says the victim was a 10 year employee of the department.

The driver of the car was cited with negligence, hitting a pedestrian in the roadway, and damage to city property.
