Quigley picks up endorsement

January 28, 2009 (CHICAGO) That race is the seat left vacant by Rahm Emanuel when he took the job as President Obama's chief of staff.

Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley is one of 25 candidates for the job. He picked up the endorsement of fellow commissioner Forrest Claypool.

"I think it's altogether fair to ask those running for this office, not what will you do to fight for change, but what have you done. And I think working with Forrest Claypool, we have begun to change the face of one of the largest governments in this country," said Mike Quigley, candidate for 5th Congressional District.

The special election primary for the seat will be held March 3. Other candidates include State Representative Sarah Feigenholtz, Representative John Fritchey and Alderman Pat O'Conner.
