The grant will help Alexian Brothers treat veterans suffering from traumatic brain injuries and post traumatic stress disorder.
"This is a great example of us coming together, government, administration, legislators, community leaders, taking advantage of our great resource that we have here at Alexian Brothers which is a nation's leader in these programs," said Tammy Duckworth, Illinois Dept. of Veterans' Affairs.
The money came from the Veteran's Cash Lottery Ticket sales, the state's first scratch-off lottery where all the proceeds go to organizations which help Illinois veterans.
