City continues to fill potholes

February 5, 2009 (CHICAGO) The Chicago Department of Transportation says it filled more than 150,000 potholes in December and January.

But warmer weather could bring freeze and thaw cycles which usually bring more potholes.

"During last winter, we filled an average of 80,000 potholes a month. This winter we have filled an average of 75,000 potholes a month. That number could go up depending on what kind of weather we've got," said Thomas Byrne, Chicago Department of Transportation commissioner.
