It happened around 4 a.m. Sunday near Lucky's Car Wash, which is close to the CTA's Skokie Swift train tracks. Yellow Line train service was temporarily suspended due to the police activity. It has resumed.
The victims were hospitalized later Sunday, but their conditions were not known.
Police said they were talking to a person of interest.
