February 9, 2009 --A new finding reveals why many minority women do not get breast cancer screenings. Researchers at Michigan State University surveyed more than 300 Arab-American, African-American and Latina women. Nearly 70 percent agreed that healthcare organizations sometimes deceive or mislead patients.
Researchers say, if women mistrust healthcare professionals, they're less likely to undergo health screenings such as mammograms.
