Demonstration held against McDonald's

February 14, 2009 (CHICAGO) "We don't want your Big Mac. We just want our schools back," the protesters shouted.

McDonald's critics say the firm has given almost $2 million to help support Renaissance 2010. They complain that Renaissance closes some schools, including Peabody on West Augusta.

The Board of Education says under-performing schools are being replaced by 100 new, higher-quality facilities with smaller class sizes.

McDonald's and other businesses are supporting the program.
