February 16, 2009 (CHICAGO) --
Two fires at the same apartment complex forced residents out of their homes on the city's West Side. The first fire was reported at 11 a.m. at a building for senior citizens in the 2300-block of West Jackson. The building was evacuated as a precaution. No one was injured.
Firefighters returned to the complex around 3:30 p.m. for a second fire, which started in an adjacent building on West Van Buren.
Two people were taken to area hospitals.
Investigators say both fires started in the incinerator and are trying to determine if they are related.
