March 5, 2009 (CHICAGO) --The independent board which investigates shootings involving Chicago police officers will begin posting its results online. The Independent Police Review Authority hopes that by posting its findings on a web site the public will better understand how investigations work. The IPRA believes this will also help explain police actions.
Each report will include a summary of the incident, evidence and witness accounts. However, names will not be posted.
So far the board has completed its investigation on one shooting.
