Man charged with sex assault accused of murder for hire

March 11, 2009 (CHICAGO) Prosecutors say John Hopkins was caught on tape trying to hire an undercover Cook County sheriff's investigator to kill his two alleged victims so they could not testify against him.

Prosecutors say Hopkins told the investigator that he could find one of the victim's keys and ID inside his home.

Both of the alleged victims were sexually assaulted in separate attacks in October of last year on Chicago's South Side.

Surveillance pictures at the scene of one of the attacks helped lead police to the Hopkins. He is being held on a $2.5 million bond.
